Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of eyewitness testimony and child witnesses in the legal setting. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous grants, and has received many national and international prizes. She has worked with various organizations and government officials across the world regarding policies as well as research on children as victims within the legal system. She is a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly known as Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of several professional associations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is a founding member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division as well as three divisions of Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
